Stretch marks can appear in many areas of the body as a result of rapid weight gain, weight loss, pregnancy or even puberty. Scars are often left after skin has healed from a wound or injury and can present itself in many forms. They are a natural process of healing and often fade over time and may never completely disappear.
Occasionally, scars can become unsightly and distressing developing in to keloids, becoming hypertrophic or leaving dark pigments in the skin. Pitted or sunken scars can develop following skin conditions such as acne and chicken pox. Scars can be treated in a variety of ways but the procedure to treat them will depend on the type of scars needing treating.
