GentleMax Pro™ Laser Treatments

GentleMax Pro™ delivers a range of treatments for all skin types hair removal, pigmented and vascular lesions including blue and red/purple veins on face and legs, angiomas, spider nevus, rosacea, venous lakes and other conditions. GentleMax Pro™ also offers powerful treatment for Warts and Veruccas, Fungal Nail Infections, as well as Skin Tightening.

  • GentleMax Pro™ for Hair Removal: GentleMax Pro™ Laser Hair Removal treatments use a patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™), which prepares the skin for treatment by spraying the upper layer with a cooling burst of cryogen in adjustable durations – milliseconds before the laser pulse. DCD helps ensure that the treatments are as comfortable as they are effective. Hair growth and pigmentation are reduced after each treatment and the number of treatments required will be based on your hair colour and type, body area and skin tone. Laser and light-based treatments have been safely used for many years for a variety of medical and cosmetic procedures. Side effects may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypo-pigmentation, blistering and purpura (a laser bruise) in the treated area – these usually do not last more than a few days.
  • GentleMax Pro™ for Pigmented Lesions: Pigmented Lesions are extremely common and most often caused by the sun. They include freckles, age spots and liver spots and normally contain high concentrations of melanin (pigment). Hormonal factors, injury and ageing can also cause abnormal pigmented lesions.
  • GentleMax Pro™ for Vascular Lesions: Vascular Lesions can be present from birth or develop with age, or occur as the result of sun damage. They occur when the small capillaries in the skin become dilated and can give the appearance of red spots, or sometimes large stains, such as port wine stains. They can also spread out like thread veins or spider veins.

How does the laser work with GentleMax Pro™?

Laser energy is delivered through a small hand-piece operated by your practitioner. The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the skin and converted to heat. The heat is then absorbed by the cells being targeted, while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. The skin may be slightly red immediately following the procedure. This typically lasts from a few minutes to several hours after the procedure.

Are the GentleMax Pro™ treatments painful?

Candela’s Laser Hair Removal treatments use a patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™), which prepares the skin for treatment by spraying the upper layer with a cooling burst of cryogen in adjustable durations – milliseconds before the laser pulse. DCD helps ensure that the treatments are as comfortable as they are effective.

What precautions should one take throughout this process?

Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before treatment. Do not bleach, pluck or wax 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatment. Wait for tanned skin to fade before beginning treatment.

How long do the treatments take, and how many treatments will one require?

Treatment times may vary depending on your specific needs. Hair growth and pigmentation is reduced after each treatment and the number of treatments required will be based on your hair colour and type, body area and skin tone.

Are treatments safe, and are there any side effects?

Laser and light-based treatments have been safely used for many years for a variety of medical and cosmetic procedures. Side effects may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypo-pigmentation, blistering and purpura (a laser bruise) in the treated area – these usually do not last more than a few days.
